Project Scope: The project includes 12,000 linear feet of 30- to 42-inch water main, traffic control, jack and bore installations under a railroad and state-owned roadways. We also provide corrosion control design, structural analysis of adjacent structures, and condition assessment and rehabilitation recommendations for an adjacent sewer in the area. Our team divided the project into multiple segments with guaranteed maximum pricing (GMPs) based on their specific challenges, and to better coordinate with several other projects in the area, including intersection improvements, Duke Energy power pole relocations, and sidewalk work.
CLTWater asked us to accelerate the schedule for the Monroe Road Water Main and Sharon Amity Road Water Main portions of the project in order to coordinate with the Sharon Amity Sidewalk Project and the NCDOT Monroe Road and Idlewild Road Intersection Project. We coordinated with General Services and constructed the Sharon Amity sidewalk project in conjunction with the Sharon Amity Water Main project, limiting customer impact. We installed the water main along Monroe Road ahead of the Duke Energy Pole Relocation, so City Engineering could keep their intersection project on schedule.
In addition, our team provided and executed an in-depth public communication and outreach plan.
